How much over spot? Silver Maples

My dealer here in Canada charges 22 bucks each now, I pick them up. I'm having trouble finding deals on Ebay lately. Spot is $17.25 as I write this. Good deal or not?

Thanks to all

$22 is way too steep.

Sounds too much to me, but then there's no shipping if they're local.

I rarely get good deals on silver bullion from ebay. 90% and gold, yes. Silver bullion, almost never.

BullionDirect has 'em for $19.17 right now, plus shipping, of course. Not sure whether they ship to Canada.

Apmex and Bullion Direct only ship to US. :( Oh well, might just buy locally and get the instant gratification. Maybe a little face to face pressure and he caves for a lower price.

Thanks all

well i see it like this,if you want silver sometimes deals are scarce, if you dont want the paper trail you pay more.
sometimes you cant order large amounts due to funds, and you pay more. the way i see it,most here expect silver to rise dramatically and $22 is tolerable, but look elsewhere, also dont limit your self to SML either, ive noticed not only the generic rounds considrably less, there is a large gap between national issues, the UK Brittania comes to mind (very pricey) and the Mexican Libertads are considerably less.

It's been many months since I've been able to get SML's at or under $22 locally, in my region. I hear a lot of people say they get them at closer to spot in the US, but as far as I can tell, the dealers ask - and the buyers are willing to pay - well over spot for the Maples in most parts of Canada.

I picked up some last month and the previous months at $1 over spot. I am going down to my dealer today - will let you know....thse are the only gov silver bullion I buy anymore - so if they are more than a $1 over spot - I will be dissapointed!

My local coin guy throws em in the bullion bucket(when he's got any). lately the bullion bucket is $1 over spot. Pricey for the generic stuff, but good deal for maples i guess....I got three yesterday with the little 'year 2000' privy mark on em for $1 over.

hmm - my dealer is up in spread as well - $2 over for maples (spot at 17.59 - so 19.59)- 1 oz rounds $1 over spot.... jez. I guess that is the going rate now.

On the plus side - I pulled more than a few of these out of his +1$ over spot bin today....

Lewis and Clark Exploration coin - Like new
Decent looking SAE's - couple were really nice - just some tarnish spots
Like new Prospectors
Libertad/Onza's - not great - but not bad looking condition
Few Maples - not enough ;/

Some other random rounds - like a California Hwy Partol & constitution rounds

I also grabbed his Silver Maple's and some gold- Maple 1/2 and 1/10th coins - I think we are dipping lower next week - but I will be out of pocket for most of it.
